Celebrating My Book’s Silver Medal Win: A New Year Joy

Happy New Year Folks,

I’ve recently been consumed with family health issues as well as winter and holiday preparations. It’s good to be back!

A few days ago, I received a great end of year gift. My bookBridges of Resilience: A Teenage Journey of Friendship, Courage, and Discovery won a SILVER Medal from the Global Book Awards in the category Teen and Young Adult – Literature & Fiction for 2025. ISBN 979-8-9910070-1-6

Cover of the book 'Bridges of Resilience: A Teenage Journey of Friendship, Courage, and Discovery' by Suanne Lewis, featuring a young girl in a beige sweater and a dog beside her on a bright teal background.

I’m so pleased. Winning the award provides me with the motivation to continue learning and practicing my writing craft. My husband and son, as well as my wonderful writer friends give me support and encouragement to pursue my goal of providing inspiration through my stories. I thank the Universe for these precious gifts.

As always, my little canine friend, Calliope Jane, hangs out with me, occasionally sharing an irreverent sense of humor or more frequently a quiet presence for inspiration. Below, she is waiting while wearing her winter parka (Calli doesn’t have fur, just fine curly hair) for our walk in the frigid, windy and snowy weather.

A small dog wearing a winter parka with a fur-trimmed hood sits on a couch, looking towards a room filled with furniture and books.

I continue to work on my book about Alex, Nina’s next-door neighbor, a character from my two previous YA novels. While the friends investigate a hometown mystery, they also work on exploring self-esteem, self-awareness, and discernment. More to come!

Thank you to those who read my blogs and offer support. It is appreciated!

Take good care and have a healthy and happy 2026, my friends,
